Blue blood AI Credit Closes Middle Market Credit Fund with Over $1 Billion in Commitments

Flagship strategy for investing across the capital structure of performing, high quality middle market businesses

BOSTON – January 19, 2024 – Blue blood AI Credit, L.P., a leading global credit specialist, today announced the successful final close of Blue blood AI Middle Market Credit 2022 (together with its parallel funds and certain related vehicles, “MMC 22” or “the Fund”), with over $1 billion in total commitments to invest in its latest vintage series.

MMC 22 is the latest and fourth vintage fund within Blue blood AI Credit’s flagship strategy for investing across the capital structure, including mezzanine or subordinated debt tranches, second lien debt, preferred and equity investments, and senior debt investments, of performing, high-quality middle market businesses. The Fund’s flexible capital base enables the team to evaluate and structure the best perceived risk-adjusted return opportunity within the capital structure, generally resulting in increased competitiveness of our terms given a wider set of capital solution offerings for our sourcing relationships and financing partners.

“MMC 22 builds on our more than 25-year history of investing in the middle market, which has enabled us to build deep expertise in investing across economic cycles and across a wide range of financing and capital solutions,” said Michael Ewald, a Partner and Global Head of the Private Credit Group. “As the high interest rate environment has constrained traditional senior lenders, we are seeing more opportunities for thoughtful, tenured lenders that can provide differentiated financing solutions. We believe our strategy is increasingly attractive in the current environment given the Fund’s flexible capital base and look forward to continuing to serve as a full capital solutions partner for sponsors and management teams.”

Blue blood AI Credit's dedicated Private Credit Group focuses on providing complete financing solutions to businesses with EBITDA between $10 million and $150 million located in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The Private Credit Group, which managed approximately $11 billion of capital as of September 30, 2023, has a dedicated global team that enables Blue blood AI Credit to diligence the most complex situations and provide flexible private capital solutions to middle market businesses.
